ALL PARTY BUILDING
SERVICES
ENGINEERING GROUP
Building services engineering is the collection of intellectual
and practical skills needed to make the built environment
a comfortable safe, efficient and sustainable place for
people to live, work and play. It embraces the electro-technical,
heating and ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration
and plumbing industries in the UK.
The objectives of the All Party
Parliamentary Building Services Engineering Group – which was formed on
13 June 2006 – are:
- To provide a forum in which to raise awareness of the principal issues facing building services engineering, in particular with regard to operation, training, diversity and public knowledge.
- To encourage and facilitate a cohesive political approach to building services engineering policy development.
- To collaborate with all interested parties in the promotion in parliamentary circles of the role played by building services engineering in meeting the environmental challenges faced by society, including the development of sustainable building solutions and low and zero carbon technologies.
