ALL PARTY BUILDING
SERVICES
ENGINEERING GROUP
Building services engineering is the collection of intellectual
and practical skills needed to make the built environment
a comfortable safe, efficient and sustainable place for
people to live, work and play. It embraces the electro-technical,
heating and ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration
and plumbing industries in the UK.
The objectives of the All Party
Parliamentary Building Services Engineering Group – which was formed on
13 June 2006 – are:
- to provide a forum to raise
awareness of the principal issues
within building services engineering, in particular with
regard
to operation, training, diversity and public knowledge;
- to encourage and facilitate a cohesive political approach
towards the building services engineering sector;
- to inform decision makers and
assist in the information
of policy relating to building services engineering;
- to highlight the contribution
that can be made to sustainability and,
in particular, energy efficiency by the building
services profession.
